Maths Day was super fun! The children did a variety of activities for Maths Day throughout the primary. In KS1, many different activities took place. Nursery children were using lots of mathematical language to make juice. They were counting and sorting while learning about the Hungry Caterpillar.

Reception investigated the statement 'The tallest people are the fastest'. This first involved some thinking and theories to decide if this could be the case or not. They decided a good way to find out was to put each class in height order and then have races to see if the tallest children were the fastest.

Year 1 was focused on measurement. They looked at weight, capacity and length. In Year 2, the children created some snakes and ladders charts from 0-100 and then played the games with their peers.

In KS2, there was a thrilling display of maths mastery! The students from St. Julian's joined the global stage of the Times Table Rockstars competition, 'Rest of the World Rocks'. This dynamic event turbocharged their time's tables recall and inverse division skills!

In Year 3, we had some champions of the Times table rockstars Arthur, Eduardo, and Tiano (sporting his Maths Day hat), proudly showing their hard-earned certificates. In Year 4, the children completed exciting multiplication and division activities outdoors.

In Year 4, the children completed an escape room based on a maths challenge that they had to solve in order to open the door and leave the room. In Year 6, the children put their knowledge of 4 and 6-figure grid references into action around the school grounds.
