Wellbeing

Holistic development for every child is key to ensuring a secure sense of wellbeing. It encourages resilience, critical learning skills and the ability to tackle any challenges they may face.

Dedicated to safeguarding

Our safe environment is the best way to nurture respect, independence, responsibility, commitment and honesty in line with the Shaper Profile.

With our comprehensive Child Protection Policy in line with UK and Portuguese guidelines, the School is committed to preventing maltreatment. We carry out thorough background checks for all staff, volunteers, members of the Board of Governors, Parents’ Association and outsourced personnel. We regularly review procedures to maintain a safe environment.

A structured British Pastoral Care System

Tutors (in Secondary) and Class teachers (in Primary) are the first point of contact for students and parents. They meet with students every day, monitoring academic and emotional wellbeing, addressing any concerns and sharing news and events. Tutors are overseen by their relevant Head of Year (Secondary) or the relevant Phase Leader in Pre-Prep and Prep and the Coordinadora in the 1º ciclo (Primary). They also organise group activities such as residentials, trips and work experience. The Heads of Year / Phase Leaders also address discipline, welfare and ensure smooth transitions to the next academic year. Overall, the Deputy Head (Pastoral) oversees all maters related to the childrens’ welfare.
