The pandemic meant social distancing measures, which limited free student access to the secondary school library for a long period of time. And this took its toll on students’ reading habits. To help motivate 6º to 9º ano students to read, they were invited to read library books during term 2, produced short video book reports or book trailers, in which they introduced the characters, summarised the plot and generated suspense around the story. Some even gave the book a rating.
