Aims of the Faculty

• To develop understanding and respect for other cultures.
• To create an atmosphere where students experience language learning in a positive and stimulating manner.
• To create a sound foundation in language skills that will enable students to communicate effectively and proceed with further study.
• To develop in the pupils a sense of community and promote better integration and communication in a multicultural society.

The Faculty of Modern Foreign Languages consists of 2 departments The Portuguese and the French Department. The Portuguese Department offers courses in Years 6 through IB, in both First and Foreign Language Portuguese. The French Department offers courses in French as a Foreign Language, in Years 6 through IB. Other Modern Foreign Languages courses are also taught at IB level, depending on number of students and demand.
