PRIMARY SCHOOLWelcome to the Primary School which forms an integral part of St. Julian's School. Our pursuit is to fulfill the aims and objectives of St. Julian's School by sustaining a secure, caring and stimulating environment which fosters the social, physical, spiritual, intellectual and aesthetic development of each child, thus enabling them to become confident and fulfilled both as an individual and as a member of a changing society. St. Julian's Primary School is housed in The 'Queen's Building' which was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth in 1985. It is integral to St. Julian's School and is situated on the southern side of the school campus with its own entrance from the main car park. Both English and Portuguese National Curricula operate in the Primary School and parents may opt for their child to follow only one or other of these. The English Curriculum is delivered using the English language. The Portuguese curriculum is delivered using Portuguese in the main with some subjects delivered in English. At ages 3 years to 5 years children taught through the English Foundation Stage Curriculum. From 5 years to 10 years children learn through the delivery of the English National Curriculum. Parents have the opportunity to transfer their children from the English National Curriculum, when they are in Year1, to Anoš 1 where they will continue to learn through the delivery of Portuguese National Curriculum. Year 5 marks the end of the Primary phase of education at St. Julian's School and thereafter the children transfer to Year 6, which is housed in the Secondary School. Here they will continue to learn through the English National Curriculum at Key Stage Two in a Secondary School setting. |
