SCHOLARSHIPSThe Golden and Diamond jubilee scholarships are awarded annually to students beginning years 10 and 12 respectively. The Golden Jubilee Scholarship is awarded to the outstanding Year 10 student. This is decided by three examinations in the core subjects of English/Portuguese, Science and Mathematics. These will take place in the third term of the Year 9 academic year. The scholarship is, on principle, an open one, but students need to consult with their teachers before deciding to enter since a history of high achievement at St Julian’s is an obvious prerequisite. The Diamond Jubilee Scholarship is awarded to the student who achieves the highest grades in the (I)GCSE examinations in Year 12. In the case of more than one student gaining the same grades the scholarship will be shared. Both scholarships are worth 50% of school fees for the remainder of the student's time at St Julian's, as long as performance remains excellent. If a student is already in receipt of a discount or a scholarship, the award is a titular one, which will figure in academic records and references. Further details of both scholarships can be found in the Academic Scholarships document.
