PACT - Parent's Association

St Julian's has a friendly, supportive and proactive parents and a warm welcome awaits you from PACT, the St Julian's Parents' Association. PACT works with the school to support students and parents, promote a sense of community and to enhance communication between the school and parents. As a parent of a pupil at St Julian's you are automatically a member of PACT.

PACT is run by a committee of volunteer parents who meet on a regular basis with the Headmaster, the Principals of the Secondary and Primary schools, and the Secção Portuguesa. At the beginning of each year PACT collates and distributes Class Contact Lists for every form across your child's year, using data you have authorised the school to pass on to us. If you do not receive the class list, please contact us and also confirm that you have authorised the school to give us your contact details. Class lists are essential for communicating with other parents, inviting you to PACT events and arranging class and year social events. PACT arranges regular coffee mornings where parents in each year can meet and discuss issues of common interest. If further clarification is needed, PACT communicates with SLT who will in turn address these issues at the termly SLT Coffee Mornings.

We rely on two parents from each year becoming a volunteer Class Rep. This is not a time consuming task so please consider taking this on for at least one of the years your child is at St Julian's. There are many other ways in which you can get involved, from helping with the newsletter, assisting with uniform sales or volunteering at events.

PACT runs an office which opens from 8:30 to 9:30 on Tuesdays and 15:15 to 16.30 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Parents can pop in to the office where someone will be available to answer any questions and there is good selection of second-hand uniform is on sale. We are totally reliant on volunteers to man the office.

On Wednesday the 31st of August, PACT will be present at Induction Day to welcome all new parents. On the 7th of September, PACT will host an informal Cheese and Wine Evening where parents can meet the form tutors and other teachers in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

On behalf of PACT, I look forward to meeting you in August at induction day, or in September at the Cheese and Wine event. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.

Best wishes,
Bela Mendonça
